New material to work with

A friend of mine asked me if I wanted some cherry logs from his property. He had some big limbs cut down over his driveway after a large cherry tree began to show signs of decay. I brought them home and blocked them up with the chainsaw and sealed them with Anchor Seal before throwing them into the back of the garage to store while drying.

One day, I'll bring them back out and turn them into bowls. But until then, they slowly dry and age.

Six black cherry blanks ready to seal and go into storage to dry.
